Whole Wheat Batter Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. molasses
  • 1 c. white flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water.

    Add whole wheat flour, salt, most of butter, honey and molasses.

    Beat well.

    Stir in white flour. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.

    Punch down.

    Reserve 1/2 cup batter.

    Spoon remaining batter into 16 muffin tins.

    Spoon 1 teaspoon of reserved batter on top of each roll.

    Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.

    Brush tops lightly with butter.
