- 1 large head iceberg lettuce (may also use spinach)
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt/substitute
- 1 c. warm water
- 5 slices crisp bacon
- 1 c. apple cider vinegar
- 1 finely chopped medium onion
Directions

1Shred lettuce into large ceramic bowl and toss with onion and an additional 1/2 to 1 cup sugar (to taste).

2Bacon is best cooked in cast-iron skillet, do not drain fat.

3To bacon add sugar, salt, vinegar and water.

4Cook until reaches boiling and then pour over lettuce and stir.

5The hot liquid wilts lettuce.

6Best served with Sunday dinner such as roast, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc.
