- 1 c. warm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. soft butter or shortening
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 tablespoon sugar.

2Add shortening, salt, 1 tablespoon sugar and flour.

3Mix well.

4Pour out on floured board and knead a few times, then cut out and place in a pan.

5Grease top and let rise in a warm place until double in size, about 1/2 to 1 hour.

6Bake at 400° until brown.

7Makes about 1 1/2 dozen.
