- 2 c. or more flour
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. Crisco
Directions

1Heat milk to lukewarm by placing cup in hot water.

2Dissolve yeast in milk.

3Mix dry ingredients; blend in Crisco, then buttermilk.

4Roll on floured board until 1/4-inch thick.

5Brush with melted butter or Crisco.

6Cut and place on greased pan, then place another layer on top.

7Cover and rise 1 1/2 hours or until double in size.

8Bake in 400° to 500° oven for 20 minutes or more.
