- 2 large Tbsp. Crisco
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. cold water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- enough flour to knead (not self-rising flour)
Directions

1Add shortening, sugar and salt to scalded milk.

2Stir, then add cold water, beaten eggs and yeast which has been dissolved in lukewarm water.

3Add enough flour to make a dough just stiff enough to knead well (not too much).

4Set aside to double in bulk, then pinch out dough to make a small biscuit as it will raise again while baking.

5Butter top.

6Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
