- 4 oz. flour (1/2 c.)
- pinch of salt
- 8 oz. milk (1/4 c.)
- 1 egg (use 2 eggs for a richer batter)
Directions

1Pour flour and salt in mixing bowl.

2Add egg and mix well. Gradually beat in enough milk to make stiff, smooth batter (no lumps).

3Allow to stand for a few minutes, then gradually beat in the rest of the liquid.

4This mixture can be allowed to stand some time in cool place before baking.

5Before baking, give one final beat.

6Pour batter in baking pan, heated with oil or grease from roast.

7Bake at 425° for approximately 30 minutes, until brown on top and serve with roast beef gravy.

8This is similar to popovers and is delicious.
