- 4 c. flour
- 1/2 yeast cake
- lukewarm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. oil
Directions

1Dissolve yeast cake in a small amount of water.

2Add sugar and set aside until bubbly.

3Mix flour and salt.

4Add dissolved yeast cake and oil.

5Use enough water to leave mixture soft and stringy. Set until dough rises (approximately 1 hour).

6Take pinches or strips of dough and fry in hot oil until golden brown.

7These may be eaten plain or sprinkled with powdered sugar or dipped in cool syrup.
