  • 3 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 c. onions, slivered
  • 2 c. celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 c. sweet peppers, diced
  • 1 large zucchini
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/8 tsp. hot pepper seeds
  • 1/8 tsp. allspice
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 lb. bacon or 1 lb. ground beef

    In 5-quart kettle combine tomatoes, onions, celery, peppers and spices.

    Cook on medium heat 35 minutes.

    Cut bacon into small pieces.

    Fry to brown and crispy.

    Add drained bacon and 2 tablespoons grease to stew.
