- whole pickling cucumbers
- 2 Tbsp. alum
- 2 Tbsp. canning salt
- 4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. pickling spice
- 1 gal. vinegar
- 1 gal. jar
Directions

1Wash cucumbers and fill a gallon jar.

2Add alum, salt, spice and enough vinegar to cover the cucumbers.

3Set aside for 3 months. Then pour off vinegar and slice about 1/4- inch thick; layer slices back in the jar.

4Add sugar; turn jar back and forth or shake until sugar is dissolved.

5They are ready to eat.
