- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
- 5 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. plain sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar until very light and fluffy.

2Add flavorings.

3Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add alternately the measured flour and baking powder with milk, beginning with flour mixture and ending with flour mixture.

4Bake in a greased tube pan in a preheated 325° oven for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.

5For a sheet cake, bake in a greased 11 x 15-inch pan at 350° for 25 minutes or until cake tests done.
