  • 5 c. plain flour
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Sift dry ingredients.

    Cut in shortening until fine.

    Add buttermilk and yeast; work together. Cover and refrigerate. Roll out as many as needed for each meal. Bake in ungreased pan at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
