- 4 Tbsp. warm water
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 5 c. plain flour
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Mix warm water and yeast and set aside.

2Then in a large mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, soda, baking powder and shortening.

3Add buttermilk.

4Add yeast mixture and mix well. When dough is mixed well, place in a greased covered container. Put in refrigerator until needed.

5Take out what's needed and roll out 1/2-inch thick.

6Let rise about 45 minutes before baking. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400° until golden brown.

7This dough will keep several days in refrigerator.
