- 2 qt. cider
- 3 1/2 lb. cooking apples
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. each ground allspice and cloves
- 1 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Boil cider for 15 minutes.

2Add sliced apples and cook until soft.

3Force through a sieve to remove skins and seeds.

4Return to kettle.

5Add spice, sugar and salt.

6Cook slowly until thick and smooth, stirring to prevent scorching.

7Pour into jars or crock. Makes about 4 pints.
