Apple Nut Torte

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. sugar (add a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg)
  • 1 c. diced apples (tart)
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Grease a 9-inch pie pan or square pan.

    Preheat oven to 325°. Beat egg; sift dry ingredients into bowl, then add beaten egg, vanilla, apples and nuts.

    Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown.

    Cut into wedges and serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Needs no liquid or shortening.

    A small dessert, nice for two.
