Apple Pie Bars

- 2 whole Pie Crusts
- 5 whole Apples, Peeled, Cored And Sliced
- 3/4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoons Nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoons Cinnamon
- 1 dash Salt
- 1 cup Cornflakes, Crushed
- 1 whole Egg White
Directions

1-Defrost or take out of the refrigerator 2 pre-made pie crusts. (I suppose you could make 2 crusts from scratch, but I generally don't have the energy for that unless it is a special occasion.)

2-Peel, core and slice 4-5 apples.

3-In a large bowl, toss apples with 3/4 cup sugar (we used 1/2 cup white and 1/4 cup brown.), 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and a dash of salt.

4-Roll out one crust onto a greased or parchment lined sheet pan. Cover with 1 cup of crushed corn flakes.

5-Pile apple mixture on top of corn flakes and cover with second crust.

6-Pinch or roll edges of the crust to seal. Brush the top with egg white to give it a shiny look.

7-Use a small knife to make several vents in the top.

8-Cook at 350F for 50 minutes.

9- To serve, cut into bars.

10Yum! It's like a big apple dumpling.
