  • 1/2 cups Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cream
  • 1/2 cups Chopped Pecans

Directions

  1. 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Press the first pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Set aside.
  2. 2
In a large bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Toss gently. Spoon into prepared pie crust. Dot with butter. Top with the second crust and pinch the two crusts together around the edges. Cut slits in several places. Bake at 350°F for 50-55 minutes. Remove from the oven.

For the praline, in a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar and cream. Over low heat, bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in pecans. Spread the mixture over the pie. Place the pie on a cookie sheet and return it to the oven. Bake 5 minutes or until bubbly. Cool one hour before serving (optional: top with ice cream or whipped cream).
