- 1/3 c. wild rice
- 1 1/3 c. water
- salt to taste
- 1 unpeeled apple, cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Wash rice and drain; combine with water and salt to taste in a saucepan.

2Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.

3Simmer, loosely covered, 45 minutes.

4Rice should be tender and most of the liquid absorbed.

5Let stand for 5 minutes; drain.
