  • 4 tsp. soda
  • 4 tsp. allspice
  • 4 tsp. cloves
  • 4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Crisco
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 box raisins
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1/2 c. strawberry or cherry preserves (mixed fruits if you prefer)

Directions

    Heat applesauce and spices to boil.

    Cream together Crisco, sugar and eggs, added one at a time.

    Add flour and applesauce. Add other ingredients.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done.
