Ingredients

  • 2 cloves fresh garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 large can tomato puree
  • 1/2 can water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 lb. lasagna
  • 1 lb. chopped beef
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley
  • 2 lb. Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 lb. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Saute garlic in tablespoon of olive oil (do not brown garlic). Add tomato puree, water, salt, pepper, oregano and sugar.

    Bring to a boil.

    Lower heat and simmer for 2 hours.

    Brown chopped beef; add parsley, season to taste and add 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese.

    Simmer until all chopped beef is cooked through. Set aside.

    Using a 6-quart kettle, boil water (with 1 tablespoon salt added).

    When a rolling boil starts, add lasagna.

    Cook according to directions on package, drain and blanch with cold water.
