Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 to 3 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 4 well beaten eggs
  • 3 c. banana pulp (10 to 12 ripe bananas)
  • 8 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt (scant)
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar together.

    Add soda to sour cream, then blend with creamed mixture.

    Beat eggs well and add, then add mashed bananas.

    Sift dry ingredients together, then mix into first mixture.

    Add chopped nuts.

    Blend well and turn into greased and floured loaf tins.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until done.

    Makes 4 large loaves.
