- 4 c. day old, cubed French or sourdough bread
- 1/4 c. melted butter or margarine
- 3 eggs
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sliced firm bananas
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Place the bread cubes in a greased 2-quart casserole; pour butter over and toss to coat.

2In a medium bowl, lightly beat eggs.

3Add milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

4Stir in bananas.

5Pour over bread cubes and stir to coat.

6Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
