  • 2 lb. pork butt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 inch sliced fresh ginger root, mashed
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. sherry
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 tsp. five spice
  • 1/2 tsp. red food coloring

Directions

    Cut meat into 1/2 to 3/4-inch strips.

    Combine garlic, ginger root, sugar, salt, sherry, soy sauce, honey, five spice and food coloring.

    Pour over meat; marinate for 1 hour.

    Remove meat from marinade and roast in a 325° oven for 1 1/2 hours, basting frequently with the marinade and drippings.
