- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- about 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3Add enough milk to make a soft dough. Stir with a fork only until dough leaves side of bowl.

4Turn dough out onto lightly floured board and knead just until smooth.

5Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with cutter.

6Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.

7Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
