- 1 lb brown lentils, rinsed and picked over
- 6 cups water
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 medium onion, peeled
- 1 bay leaf
- salt
Directions

1Put the lentils in a large slow cooker and add the water.

2Stick the cloves in the onion and add it to the lentils with the bay leaf.

3Cover and cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours, or until the lentils are tender.

4Add salt to taste.

5Let stand for 10 minutes.

6Discard the onion and bay leaf.

7Drain the lentils and serve hot.
