- 1 pound Medium Shrimp, Peeled And Deveined
- 1/2 pounds Fresh Asparagus, Cleaned With Ends Trimmed, Cut In 2 Inch Long Pieces
- 5 Tablespoons Butter, Divided
- 5 Tablespoons Flour
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 1 loaf Baguette, Sliced About 1/2 Inch Thick, Toasted
- 3 Tablespoons Chopped Fresh Chives
Directions

1Over medium-high heat, in a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.

2Add shrimp, and saute until almost done.

3Add asparagus pieces, and continue to saute until tender-crisp, and shrimp is pink and opaque.

4Remove from skillet to a heated platter.

5Melt remaining 3 tablespoons butter in skillet on medium-high heat.

6Add in flour to make a roux.

7Add in heavy cream, salt and pepper; whisk until smooth.

8Lower heat to medium-low, continue to simmer until sauce starts to thicken.

9Add shrimp and asparagus back to the skillet with the sauce.

10Continue to simmer for a few more minutes until sauce is thickened and bubbly.

11Serve over toasted baguette slices and garnish with chopped chives.
