  • 1 1/2 lb. sirloin
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp. catsup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 small clove garlic, mashed
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. sour cream

Directions

    Cut beef across grain into strips.

    Cook and stir beef in margarine in 10-inch skillet over low heat until brown.

    Reserve 1/3 cup of broth, stir in remaining broth, catsup, salt and garlic into skillet.

    Heat to boiling and reduce heat.

    Cover and simmer until beef is tender, 45 minutes.

    Stir in mushrooms and onion. Cover and simmer until onion is tender.

    Shake reserved broth and the flour in a tightly covered container.

    Gradually stir into beef mixture.

    Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.

    Boil and stir 1 minute.

    Reduce heat, stir in sour cream and heat through. Serve over noodles or rice.
