- 1 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms
- 3 lb. sirloin, good cut steak, cut in strips
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. Sherry (optional)
- 1 stick butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 pt. sour cream
Directions

1Wash and cut mushrooms.

2Season meat and brown in butter. Transfer to casserole.

3Brown mushrooms in same pan and put them in casserole.

4Put flour into remaining juices in pan and add sour cream.

5Cook over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

6Pour sauce over meat. This can be prepared the day before.

7Casserole should be heated in a very low oven (250° to 300°) for 1 hour.

8Serves 8.

9Serve with rice or English muffins.
