Ingredients
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Directions

1Blend oil or melted butter, sugar and vanilla in large mixing bowl.

2Add eggs; using a spoon, beat well.

3Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually blend into egg mixture.

4Stir in nuts.

5Spread in greased 9-inch square pan.

6Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the edge of pan.

7Cool.

8This recipe can be doubled for a 9 x 13-inch pan.
