  • 2 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/4 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. plain flour (White Lily)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix margarine, Crisco and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Sift flour, baking powder and salt at least at 3 different intervals.

    Add alternately with milk.

    Add flavoring. Roll 1 cup walnuts in dry flour, mix in batter.

    Bake in three 9-inch cake pans. Bake in a 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
