- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 2 c. cake flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- dash of salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- powdered sugar
- 2 (10 oz.) jars blackberry jam
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

2Add egg, beating well. Beat in dry ingredients that have been sifted together alternately with the milk.

3Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round pans and bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

4Remove from pans and cool completely.

5After you have stacked and spread the jam between layers, sift powdered sugar over top layer.
