Blackberry Soup

Ingredients

  • 4 c. fresh blackberries, rinsed
  • 1 c. white grape juice
  • 1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. sugar or to taste
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 c. plain yogurt
  • 1 c. light sour cream

Directions

    Combine first seven ingredients in medium saucepan.

    Bring to boil, cover, lower heat and simmer 10 minutes.

    Set aside to cool, 1/2 hour.

    Press mixture through fine mesh strainer.

    Chill until ready to use.

    Then combine yogurt, sour cream and blackberry puree until smooth and silky.

    Garnish with reserved berries or top with Creme Fraiche.
