- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 6 Tbsp. Crisco
- 2 tsp. 4x sugar
- dash of salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. buttermilk
- melted butter (for brushing tops of biscuits after ten minutes in oven)
Directions

1Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder into a bowl.

2Stir in Crisco and milk and mix well.

3Form into biscuits or roll out and cut, if desired.

4Place biscuits on greased pan and press very flat.

5Bake at 425° for 10 minutes.

6Remove and brush tops with melted butter.

7Return to oven and continue baking 10 minutes or until brown.
