- 2 c. raisins
- 2 c. water
- 2 3/4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 3/4 c. flour
Directions

1Simmer raisins and water for approximately 15 minutes.

2Add salt, baking soda and butter.

3Let cool.

4Then mix together eggs, sugar, vanilla and flour and add to raisin mixture, mixing well. Grease and flour 2 loaf pans or may use 1 or 2 pound coffee cans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

5Put pan of water in bottom of oven.
