Ingredients
- 5 to 6 c. flour
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten slightly
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- poppy seed
Directions

1Stir together 3 cups flour, yeast, sugar, eggs and salt.

2Add boiling water and butter.

3Blend thoroughly.

4Add flour until kneadable.

5Knead until smooth and elastic.

6Place in greased, covered bowl and let rise until double.

7Take out and divide in half.

8Separate each half into equal thirds.

9Roll each third into long snake and braid with others from same half.

10Place braids on greased cookie sheets; let rise until double.

11Beat egg and brush both loaves.

12Sprinkle with poppy seed.

13Bake 20 minutes or until done at 350°.

14Yields 2 loaves.
