Ingredients

  • 2 c. Kellogg's All-Bran
  • 1 c. Nabisco 100% Bran
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 c. seedless raisins
  • 1 1/2 chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine brans and salt.

    Stir in boiling water.

    Add buttermilk.

    Cool.

    In a separate bowl, cream sugar and oleo.

    Add eggs.

    Beat well.

    Stir into bran mixture.

    Combine flour and soda.

    Add other ingredients and bake at 375°.

    Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full.

    Makes approximately 3 dozen muffins. Freezes very well.
