Brandy Fruit And Nut Cake

- 3 c. chopped walnuts (English)
- 1 1/2 c. raisins
- 3/4 c. flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 jar maraschino cherries (whole)
- 3 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. brandy
Directions

1Combine fruit and nuts.

2Mix well.

3Mix dry ingredients well. Add to fruit and nuts; coat well.

4Beat eggs until frothy; add brandy.

5Add to mixture; mix well.

6Pour batter into 9 x 15-inch tube pan that has been greased and floured.

7Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

8Cool in pan; remove from pan; wrap in cloth that has been dampened with 1/4 tablespoon brandy.

9Wrap in foil; place in refrigerator a couple of days.

10Unwrap; dampen cloth with water, no more brandy.

11Rewrap and set in refrigerator at least a week.

12Very very good.
