  • 3 c. stale French bread soaked in water and squeezed out
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar (more if desired)
  • 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix bread crumbs, raisins and cinnamon.

    Beat eggs; add sugar. Beat again.

    Scald milk; add egg mixture and cook until slightly thickened.

    Remove from heat; add vanilla.

    Pour over bread crumbs; mix well.

    Bake at 350° for about 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
