  • 20 slices bread, stale
  • 10 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 c. oleo or butter

Directions

    Crumble bread; pour milk over and set aside to soak.

    Add beaten eggs, the sugar and spices.

    Put mixture in a baking pan, well-greased with oil.

    Melt butter or oleo and pour mixture. Bake for 30 or 35 minutes at 350°.

    Let come to a golden brown, but don't overcook.
