Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 2/3 lb. grated cheese
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 slices (thick sliced) white bread
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Directions

    Fry sausage and drain off fat.

    Butter one side of the bread and place evenly in the bottom of a well-greased 13x9 inch pan. Sprinkle cheese over the bread.

    Combine beaten eggs, milk, salt, and mustard and pour over the top.

    Sprinkle sausage over this. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    The next morning, bake, covered, for 1 hour at 350.

    Uncover and bake for 15 minutes longer. Server 6 to 8.
