Broccoli Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 (49 oz.) can chicken broth
  • 8 c. broccoli, cut up
  • 2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 tsp. thyme, crushed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • garlic powder
  • 8 Tbsp. butter
  • 8 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. milk

Directions

    Bring first 6 ingredients to a boil.

    Cover and simmer

    10 minutes or until broccoli is tender.

    Remove bay leaves.

    Blend 60 seconds in blender (longer if you like it smoother).

    Melt butter; blend in flour, salt and pepper.

    Get all the lumps out.

    Slowly add milk.

    Mix together with broccoli mixture and warm to serving temperature.
