Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 to 4 lb. chuck steak, trimmed
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/3 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp. horseradish
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. sour cream (optional)

Directions

    Pierce both sides of steak, or steaks, well with fork.

    Place in shallow pan.

    Combine tomato sauce, vinegar, horseradish, sugar, salt and pepper.

    Pour over steak.

    Refrigerate overnight. Broil steak to desired doneness.

    If desired, simmer remaining marinade in saucepan 3 minutes.

    Remove from heat.

    Add a little marinade to the sour cream, then fold the sour cream into marinade.

    Heat slowly.

    Serve over steak.
