- 8 cups white flour
- 8 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup lard
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 -5 tablespoons salt
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 -3 cups lukewarm water
- 2 (4 tablespoon) envelopes dry yeast
Directions

1Proof the yeast in 1 cup of warm water for 10 minutes.

2Cut the lard into the dry ingregients.

3Make a well and add the yeast mixture and molasses.

4Add the water a little at a time until you have a pliable dough.

5Knead on a lightly floured board for several minutes.

6Allow to rise until double, placing in a greased covered bowl.

7Form into loaves and place in greased bread loaf pans.

8Allow to rise until doubled.

9Bake 300F for 1 hour.
