Buttercream Icing

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. cold margarine
  • 2 c. sifted 4x powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 to 2 Tbsp. milk or cream

Directions

    Place margarine in small bowl and, with electric mixer, beat several minutes until creamy.
  2. 2
    Add sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, and beat well after each addition.

    Add vanilla, then milk, a little at a time, and beat well.
  4. 4
    Tint portions of icing with food coloring to decorate.
  5. 5
    Ice and decorate cake.
