  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking ???

Directions

    Mix together sugar and shortening; cream.

    Add eggs, one at a time.

    Combine dry ingredients.

    Add flour and milk alternately. Add vanilla and mix well.

    Bake in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 325°.

    Let cool and invert pan.
