- 2 c. white self-rising cornmeal
- 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 whole or 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 tsp. cornmeal
Directions

1Heat oven to 400°.

2Mix meal, flour, egg, soda and buttermilk in bowl.

3Heat oil in cast-iron skillet or 8 to 9-inch cake pan until very hot.

4Sprinkle in cornmeal and pour in bread dough. Place in oven and bake until brown on top.
