  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. dark Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. butter (no substitute)
  • 2 Tbsp. boiling water
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions

    Boil together sugar, syrup, butter and water until brittle stage (300°).

    Add vinegar and stir hard.
  3. 3
    Pour into a buttered pan and mark in squares with a knife when slightly cool and not hard.
