- 1/2 c. rice
- 1 large head cabbage
- 1/4 lb. ground pork
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. hot water
Directions

1Cook rice in 1 1/4 cups milk.

2Remove cabbage leaves from head and immerse in boiling, salted water.

3Cook until partially translucent and pliable; drain.

4Combine meats with 1 cup milk, salt, pepper and rice; mix thoroughly.

5Spoon meat mixture on each leaf.

6Roll and tie securely or fasten with toothpicks.

7Brown rolls in hot fat; sprinkle with brown sugar.

8Add water.

9Cover and cook slowly about 2 hours.

10Thicken broth for gravy.
