  • 4 eggs, seperated
  • 75 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 90 grams sugar
  • 45 ml vegetable oil
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (if needed)

    Sift flour and baking powder together, several times.

    Set aside.

    Beat the egg whites until foamy, then add half of the sugar gradually until stiff peaks form.

    Add the remaining sugar into the egg yolks and beat until thick and creamy.

    Add vanilla extract.

    Add the oil and milk and mix until corporated, then do the same with the flour.

    Add the 1/3 of meringue into the egg yolk mixture and stir until combined.

    Fold in the rest of the meringue carefully so not to break the air bubbles until there are no visible streaks of white.

    The end product should be light and airy.

    Bake in preheated oven at 160C for 35 mins or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
