- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. lemon juice
- 1 envelope Knox gelatine, dissolved in 1/4 c. water
- 6 egg whites
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 large angel food cake
- whipped cream
- sliced almonds
Directions

1Beat egg yolks slightly in top of double boiler.

2Stir in 3/4 cup sugar.

3Slowly add lemon juice.

4Cook over hot water, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes.

5Remove from heat.

6Add gelatine, dissolved in water, mix well and cook slightly.

7In separate bowl, beat egg whites until peaked; gradually add 3/4 cup sugar. Beat well by hand; fold into custard.
