  • 6 slices day-old white bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups milk, warmed
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 18 teaspoon salt

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 8- x 8-inch baking dish.

    Place bread cubes in prepared baking dish.

    Combine water and brown sugar and pour over bread.

    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread.

    Bake in preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes up clean.
